A 1960’s building, a typical concrete frame structure with 8 floors. QMU needed a contractor on board to undertake the full building strip out and enabling works prior to the refurbishment of the building.
Pristine London were employed initially as Principal Contractor by Gardiner & Theobald to undertake full strip out and asbestos removal. Being involved early has enabled the client to de-risk the building through the isolation of services, removal of asbestos, and determination of the structural elements. This also improved the programme productivity for client as it allowed the enabling works to start whilst still finalising the tender packs.
Following on from the first phase of works, the team were then put forward to the main contractor, Graham Construction, to undertake all builders works, façade demolition, concrete cutting and diamond drilling.
